There are many new and innovative features offered by a brand new NordicTrack treadmill with which buyers may not be familiar.

For this reason, the manufacturer has decided to answer some common questions, and as an owner, they may be questions you have in the future. Checkout some of the best treadmills in India here.

1. What do I do if there is no reading from the chest pulse monitor?

First, make sure that the monitor is positioned properly on the body. It should be underneath any clothing and against bare skin. It should also be positioned as high under the pectoral muscles as the user can tolerate.

The user can also try moving it slightly lower or higher if it still does not work. In addition, the logo on the unit should be facing outward and right-side up. Re-moistening the electrode areas could also do the trick.

Finally, as there may be magnetic interference from power lines, it could also help to relocate the treadmill entirely.

2. What do I do if there is no reading from the EKG handlebars?

It may first help to clean the metal areas on the handlebars with a damp cloth. Then, ensure that when the bar is held, the hand is wrapping around as to be touching both the top and bottom plates.

Stop exercise by standing on the side rails in order to check your pulse–the stillness can promote accuracy. If still no solution is found, remove the key, unplug the machine, and then plug it back in and restart the machine.

3. What steps of routine maintenance do I need to remember for my treadmill?

This model features a maintenance-free belt, which means there are only a few things to remember.

Ensure that it is properly tightened and centered–it should be possible to lift each edge of the belt at least three or four inches from the deck.

Consistently check the hardware to ensure they are secure and have a firm grip as well.

4. Why is there a powdery substance coming off my machine?

This is a product of the maintenance-free treadbelt that has a high-performance lubricant coating it.

Thus, this powder is simply the lubricant coming off the machine, which is normal for when it is new. No action needs to be taken on the part of the user.

NordicTrack Commercial 1500 Operation And Adjustment Advice

Although the NordicTrack Commercial 1500 has been streamlined and is very modern and accessible, it still may require the user to brush up on some knowledge when initially learning to operate it. Whether it is the screen or the mechanics, there are some things that will likely be useful to know.

Power Issues

One of the most important things to remember about this machine is that it must be plugged into a very specific power source. It is imperative that it is always plugged into a surge suppressor in order to reduce the risk of damage to the treadmill.

Only a single-outlet surge suppressor will do, with a voltage rating of 400 volts or less. In addition, the surge suppressor must be plugged into an outlet that is grounded to reduce risk of electric shock.

Display Advice

The display monitor is one of the aspects of the treadmill that make it most enjoyable to use. It allows you to track all-important statistics, like elapsed time, calories burned, vertical feet that have been climbed, and much more.

Pressing the ‘increase’ and ‘decrease’ buttons next to the ‘enter’ key will allow you to scroll through different tabs displaying different information. In any situation, the ‘home’ button returns to the default menu.

Heart Rate Monitoring

Measuring your heart rate throughout the course of the workout can be beneficial. Using the handgrip monitor must be done separately from the chest-strap monitor.

If this is the way you choose to monitor, first remove the sheets of plastic from the metal contact strips on the handlebars.

Then, stand on the foot rails, hold the pulse bar with palms on the metal contact strips, and remain still for ten seconds. When the machine is finished, it will show the heart rate on the screen.

Adjustable Fan

The NordicTrack Commercial 1500 has a fan that should be utilized to prevent users from overheating during intense workouts. It features several speed settings and an automatic mode that will adjust with the intensity of the workout.

Press the ‘manual’ fan button repeatedly until the desired speed is achieved. Press the ‘auto’ button to achieve the auto mode. Pivoting the levers up and downward will change the direction of the fan.

Using The Chest Pulse Sensor With The Nordictrack Elite 9500 Pro

One of the many things offered by the Nordictrack Elite 9500 Pro that most other treadmills do not is the ability to check your pulse with a chest sensor.

Making it possible to check one’s pulse in a hands-free fashion opens up doors for all sorts of heart-rate oriented workouts and goals.

How To Wear The Sensor

First, the chest pulse sensor must be put on properly. It has two parts: the chest strap and the sensor. Insert the tab from the chest strap into the opening on one end of the sensor.

Position the sensor underneath the buckle on the strap. Wrap the strap around your body and attach the other end of the strap to the sensor. Ideally, the sensor should be pressed tightly against your bare skin just beneath the pectoral muscles.

Once the strap is secure and the sensor is in place, with the logo facing outward and right-side-up, the electrode areas must be moistened. A saline solution such as a contact solution will do.

Pulling the unit away from the body a bit, put the saline solution on both of the electrode areas. Then, return the sensor to the proper position against the chest, adjusting the belt to ensure it will remain secure.

There are a few tips to remember when doing this. Firstly, dry off the sensor after each use. Otherwise, the electrode sensors will remain on and drain the battery.

Also, make sure that the unit is stored in a warm area with no moisture. Avoid keeping it in any container that may trap moisture, such as a plastic bag. Do not allow the sensor to be exposed to extreme temperatures or direct sunlight for long periods of time.

When cleaning the unit, always use a damp cloth and avoid anything abrasive or containing chemicals. If issues occur, ensure that the NordicTrack Elite 9500 Pro sensor is being worn properly, as stated in the aforementioned directions.

Other troubleshooting ideas include re-moistening the electrode areas, remain in the center of the walking belt during exercise, or even try relocating the treadmill in case there is magnetic interference.

Please always read the manual before using your treadmill.
